Seven Returns Today!

The mail took forever to arrive today.  I knew I had some good returns coming, including one from Orlando Cepeda, based on my Informed Delivery email this morning.  My mail usually arrives at about 1:00 on Saturday, but it didn't arrive until 4:00 today.  I know, I'm old and that's an old person complaint, but I really wanted to see the items from Cepeda.

I actually had two more returns in the mailbox than the Informed Delivery email showed, so I had a total of seven returns today, all successes.

I had to use a padded envelope for Cepeda instead of my usual plain white envelope because there were a couple larger items and a thicker item.  It would have all fit in the pwe, but I was afraid it wouldn't make it through the sorter without getting shredded, so I used a small bubble envelope with a return tracking number on it.

Mr. Cepeda signed a 1963 Fleer, a 1964 Topps Giant, a 2008 Topps Heritage Stadium Seat card and a 1962 Exhibit stat back card.  Kind of a weird mix, but items that I thought were cool.  What should I send him next?  :-)  I'd love to send him a 1960 Bazooka, but they're too expensive.

Ted Kazanski signed his 1957 and 1958 Topps, personalizing the 57 but not the 58.

Rod Gilbreath signed his 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978 Topps.

Tom Hall signed his 1971, 1974, 1975 and 1976 Topps.

Dan McGinn signed his 1970, 1972 and 1973 Topps.

Tom McCraw signed his 1974 and 1975 Topps.

And Bob Gallagher also signed his 1974 and 1975 Topps.

A pretty nice haul for a single day, and I knocked off a few more 75 Topps for my set.

I ended winning the 1973 Topps high number lot on Ebay that I mentioned in my last post, so I ended up buying his other 1973 Topps lots as well.  I paid a lot less than I was willing to pay for the high number lot.  I'll receive 618 cards out of the 660 included in the set.  Of course, the high value cards aren't included, such as some rookies and HOF players, but there are a few included.  I have a few hundred cards from this set already, including 263 signed.  I'm hoping to have 100% of the set, including signed and unsigned cards.  There will probably be a handful of high number cards left to buy, and maybe a few lower grade cards to replace.
