Harmon Killebrew Signed 1970 Sport Magazine

I didn't receive any ttm autographs today, but I did receive a Harmon Killebrew signed 1970 Sport Magazine that I bought on Ebay.

I bought it from fellow local collector Randy, who has helped me out with my collection in the past and who I used to run into at various Twins events around the Twin Cities before Covid confined me to my basement.  Thanks Randy!

Randy is my go-to guy for anything Twins-related, and I occasionally ask his opinion on whether some autographs listed on Ebay look authentic or not, and I get alerts whenever he lists new items on Ebay. He's got some amazing stuff!

He's got an amazing thread on SCN showing off his Twins collection.

If you're a Twins fan, check him out on Ebay here: https://www.ebay.com/usr/twinsnut.  He also lists items other than Twins, and sometimes even non-baseball.

Someday I'll buy one of his 1967 Topps Twin Terrors cards signed by Killebrew and Allison!

Thanks again, Randy!

Joe Morgan (Not That One), Hobie Landrith and Balor Moore Returns

Yesterday I received two cards back signed by former player and manager Joe Morgan.  This was another attempt of mine to upgrade previous ttm results.  I was hoping for blue sharpie, but it looks like he used the same black pen that he used back in 2014.

Today, I received returns from Balor Moore, who signed his 1971, 1973 and 1975 Topps, as well as Hobie Landrith, who signed his 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960 Topps for his $5 per card fee.

I've got some cool stuff coming back shortly.  Later this week or early next.  I've been a little slow sending out new requests, so hopefully I can get some out before the end of the week.

Mazeroski, McAnally, Nettles, and Shantz

I received a few returns the last couple of day.

On Friday, Bobby Shantz signed his 1952 Topps and 1961 Topps MVP card.  These are upgrades to my collection as I have both of these signed by him already, but he signed them in black.  This time, I sent him a blue sharpie to use.  He also sent me a signed photo and HE thanked ME for my kindness.  He seems to be such a nice man.  I had enclosed $10 with my request.

Jim Nettles signed his 1973 and 1975 Topps.  These re also upgrades, as I have the 73 signed in black, and the 75 in blue, but a bit smeared.

On Saturday, Ernie McAnally signed his 1971, 1972, 1974 and 1975 Topps.

Finally, Bill Mazeroski signed his Exhibit card for his $10 fee.

I sent out a couple more bobblehead heads ttm, and bought a Jim Perry bobbhelead to do the same.  I hope to do a bunch of these, which I wouldn't ever have gotten around to before I decided to just send heads.  At the very least, this method is saving me a lot of money.

Bill Fahey Return

Bill Fahey has been a generous signer for me over the last few years.  I didn't send him any requests for the first 17 years or so that I have been involved in this hobby, mainly because I was initially focusing on cards from the 1940' and 50's, and Mr. Fahey's rookie card is from 1972.

This was my third success from him since 2020.  He signed his 1973, 1974, 1975 and 1977 Topps in black.  The 75 smeared a bit.  Maybe I'll try sending another one, along with his 1979 Topps card to try to upgrade the one I got back today.  Maybe I'll even get it in blue.

Jose Cruz Sr. TTM Return

I received a return from Jose Cruz Jr. just last month, but today I received a return from Sr. after just 9 days.

He signed his 1975 and 1976 Topps for his $5 per card fee.

Golden, Hinsley and Sizemore Returns

I got shut out yesterday but received three ttm returns today.

Jim Golden signed his 1961, 1962 and 1963 Topps.  He also wrote me a short note answering some questions I had about his time playing in the minors in St. Paul.

Jerry Hinsley signed his 1964 Topps card, which was already signed by Bill Wakefield.

And Ted Sizemore generously signed his 1975, 1975, 1977 and 1979 Topps cards.

Jackson, McCarver and Shamsky Returns

I received three returns today, two of which were ttm, and one from a private signing.

Sonny Jackson signed his 1967 and 1973 Topps for me, adding another Topps All Star Rookie Trophy card to my collection.

Tim McCarver signed his 1973 Topps for his $10 fee ttm.  In the past, I had an issue with not getting back the same cards I sent him, and others have had the same experience, according to the comments on SCN.  Now, I just send one card at a time, and either that has helped avoid that problem, or I've just gotten lucky.

Finally, I received a return from an Art Shamsky private signing.  He signed his 1965 Topps rookie card to complete it.

Terry Hughes Return and a Failure

I received one return today and one failure.

Terry Hughes signed his 1973, 1974 and 1975 Topps.

He also answered a question on my letter and signed it.

I received a return from David Clyde who returned my three cards unsigned with no explanation.  He has a very good success rate on SCN so I'm not sure why this happened.  It's possible something happened to my request letter, and it never made it to him due to it being misdelivered or damaged.  Or maybe it was an oversight.  Or maybe he didn't like my letter for some reason.  It's very similar to hundreds I've written, so I'm not sure why he wouldn't like it.

I'll keep an eye on his returns and if they continue to be successful, I'll give it another try.

Four TTM Returns Including a Few More 1975 Topps

I received four returns today, which included 10 signed cards.

Jim Kern signed his 1975 and 1983 Topps.

Bill Lee signed his 1976 Topps which is a card I had included in a multi-card request last year that he didn't return.  He added the year and "Earth" which he's been doing for a long time.

Skip Lockwood signed his 1972, 1975, 1979 and 1980 Topps.

And finally, Frank Tanana signed his 1974, 1975 (Toops Rookie Trophy), and 1983 Topps.  He also enclosed a signed religious pamphlet, which he usually does.

I still have about 30 outstanding requests from the last couple of months, although a third of those were sent out yesterday.  It might be a little slow for a while, but hopefully I'll get a decent trickle of returns.
