Dalrymple, Oliver and Torii Hunter

I finally received the baseball and bobblehead that I sent to a Torii Hunter signing, despite having received the bat I sent exactly a week ago.  The promoter shipped it pretty promptly, but the USPS was much slower on this one for some reason.

In addition to the bat, I sent it a Gold Glove baseball and his Twins Hall of Fame bobblehead.  I have a pretty decent Torii Hunter collection now, including a Metrodome banner, mini helmet, jersey, a few 8x10 photos, three baseballs, a bat, three bobbleheads and four baseball cards.  I suppose I could add a magazine or program/scorecard, but otherwise I think I'm set.

I received three cards back from an Al Oliver signing, who signed three cards for some sets I'm working on including the 1973, 1975 and 1978 Topps sets.

And Clay Dalrymple signed two 1964 Topps and a 1972 Orioles team card for me ttm.  I included $10 with my request.  He charges $5 per card, but I had offered the duplicate 1964 Topps for him to keep, but he signed and returned it instead.

I have 4 or 5 more mail-in signings to be returned and a couple dozen or so recent ttm requests I'm waiting on.  I say 4 or 5 because one signing (Angel Bravo) is to take place in Venezuela and has been delayed quite a while.  However, the promoter updated his SCN post just today stating that the signing may happen next week.  I hope so!  I sent a 1971 Topps already signed by Woody Woodward which would be cool to complete.

Twins Heritage and Ginter Purchases

Two days in a row without a ttm return is kind of annoying considering I have a lot of requests out.

But I did receive a purchase of several Twins Heritage and Allen & Ginter cards to help fill some holes in my team sets.  I have a few team sets I am very close to completing, but need a bunch of Mauer, Morneau, Santana, Hunter, etc., cards to complete.  Sometimes several Mauer cards are needed.  I am two Morneau cards away from completing the 2010 Heritage Twins team set.  I think I'll try sending them off to him in care of the Twins.  He signed a couple 2011 Heritage cards for me that I received a couple days before Christmas last year, having waited about 18 months.

Anyway, here's a dump of the cards I received today in no particular order.  Hopefully I'll have some ttm returns tomorrow.

Carbo, Face and Luzinski Returns

Today I received three ttm returns.

Bernie Carbo signed his 1974 Topps and included a signed religious card.

Roy Face signed his 1953 Topps and a few Pirates team cards.  He must be having some vision problems because on the 65 team card, he signed right over the only other signature on the card.  I included $10 with my request.  The 53 isa an upgrade to one he previously signed for me, but in a dying blue sharpie.  This one is much nicer.

And Greg Luzinski signed the 1972 Phillies team card, the 1972 Commissioners Award card (now known as the Roberto Clemente Award), and his 1975 and 1983 Topps.

I also received a purchase from an SCN member who graphs spring training in Florida.  I bought his extra Morneau 2007 Allen & Ginter and 2022 Heritage Chris Paddack.

Dempsey, Farmer and Viola TTM Returns

I was gone a couple days and came home to three ttm returns.

Rick Dempsey signed his 1972, 1975 and 1978 Topps cards as well as the 1972 Topps Babe Ruth Award, which he won in 1983.  He also included a signed and personalized postcard and answered a question of mine on an index card. The 72 was previously signed by Jim Strickland.  Since Vic Albury is deceased, this card is as complete as it's going to get.  I included $20 with this request.

Billy Farmer signed his 1970 Topps.

And Frank Viola signed the 1972 Topps Babe Ruth and Cy Young Awards cards for his $5 per card fee.

Ron Cey and George Culver

Two ttm returns today.

Ron Cey signed his 1972 Topps in care of JD Legends Promotions.  He charges $15.  This is a high number card, so it was pretty expensive.  When I received it from the eBay seller, I noticed a bit of gum stains on the front.  It's not visible, but you can feel it.  I decided to try to send it anyway.  The signature does show a bit of the gum stain, but not as bad as I feared it might.

I can't decide if I'll settle for this or try again.

And Gorge Culver signed his 1970 Topps, as well as three Astros team cards (one on the back).  He also included seven signed postcard-sized pictures of his own!  Wow!

I also received a Torii Hunter signed baseball bat back from a private signing.  I don't have time to take the pictures and everything today, but will update when I receive the bobblehead and McFarlane Figure back as well.  I shipped them separately due to the box sizes and for some reason the bat beat the other two back.  It looks great!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.
