Charles "Buddy" Bradford

Today's return included a multi-signed card.

Charles "Buddy" Bradford signed four cards for me, including his 1968 Topps already signed by Bill Voss.

He also signed his 1969, 1971 and 1976 Topps.

I still have a couple dozen outstanding requests so hopefully the returns remain steady.

Dusty Baker, Carl Erskine and Tim McCarver

I was happy to get a Dusty Baker return today.  Immediately after putting his request in the mailbox, I came back home and read that he had been hired by the Astros.  I was afraid I'd miss him at the address I sent to since he'd be leaving for spring training shortly.  But in just six days, I got this return.

Carl Erskine signed his 1955 Bowman for me.  I didn't used to like these cards but they've grown on me.  A fellow collector on SCN was displaying some of his collection, which motivated me to get a few more of these signed.

Finally, I received two cards back from Tim McCarver, but they weren't the two cards I had sent.  I sent cards from sets I'm working on but the cards I received are from other years.  Beggars can't be choosers, but I included $20 with my request.  Maybe some day I'll try again.

Lerrin LaGrow and Steve Whitaker

I had two returns waiting for me in the mailbox today.

Lerron LaGrow signed his 1971, 1973, 1976 and 1978 Topps for me.  Gene Lamont is a hit or miss signer, so I'm not sure if I'll send this one out to him or not.  I'll keep an eye on his returns on SCN.

Steve Whitaker signed his 1968, 1969 and 1970 Topps.  I was a little worried about this one.  I first sent to him in October of last year and received an RTS.  I sent it again in mid-November to the updated address and was worried about it since it was taking a while, so I'm happy to see it come back today.

Bob G. Miller and Frank Tepedino

I received two returns today:

Bob G. Miller signed his 1956 Topps for me.  There were two Bob Millers that played at the same time.  Bob L. Miller also played with Bob G. Miller on the Mets in 1962.  Also, Bob J. Miller, who was also a pitcher, played in the majors from 1949 to 1958.  I wonder how many times they received autographs requests through the mail for the wrong player.

I also received a 1971 and 1974 Topps signed by Frank Tepedino.  This is my 10th 1971 Topps signed so far this year towards my goals of 50.

Paul Popovich

Just one return today.

Paul Popovich signed his 1971 and 1972 Topps for my sets.  I included $10 cash with my request.

Camilo Pascual - 1964 Topps Strikeout Leaders

I recently purchased this card from a member on sportscollectors.net (SCN) which was already signed by Dick Stigman and Jim Bunning.

I quickly sent it off to Camilo Pascual since he's been signing lately, and he quickly returned it to me in nine days. I had included $10 with my request.  He also signed my letter.

I had been working on this card a few years ago, and had Pascual and Stigman sign it, but then Jim Bunning passed away before I sent it to him.

Taylor Phillips and Great Bobby Shantz Return

Today I received a return from Taylor Phillips, who was kind enough to sign his 1959 and 1960 Topps for me.

I also received a nice surprise from Bobby Shantz, who is a very generous signer.  He was one of the first players I ever sent a baseball through the mail back in 2003, and he signed that nicely with his 1952 AL MVP inscription.

Just seven days ago, I sent him a Gold Glove ball to be signed, along with a pen and $10.  Today I received the ball back just as requested, along with a signed 8x10 of him with one of his Gold Glove Awards.  He also wrote a nice thank you on my letter and signed that as well.  What a great surprise!

Four Returns - Hank Allen, Bob Aspromonte, Glenn Borgmann and Mike Compton

A nice day for returns today, but I didn't make much progress on my goals, only adding one 1971 Topps and one 1978 Topps to my sets.

Hank Allen signed his 1968 and 1970 Topps.

Bob Aspromonte signed his 1962, 1964, 1967 and 1968 Topps.

I received signed 1973, 1976, 1978 and 1979 Topps from Glenn Borgmann.

And Mike Compton signed his 1971 Topps and answered a question I had in my letter.

I continue to send out quite a few requests, so the returns should be pretty consistent for a while.

Dick Groat, Johnny Grubb and Pete Ward Returns

I received three returns today.  I added one 1971 Topps and one 1978 Topps to my sets to help towards my goals for the year.

Johnny Grubb signed his 1976, 1978, 1985 and 1987 Topps.  I don't concentrate too hard on the cards from the 80's, but when I include cards from the '85 and '87 sets when I can.

Dick Groat, a TTM Hall of Famer, signed my 1962, 1966 and 1967 Topps.  I must be close to having all of his cards signed by now.  I know I''m missing his 1960 card, but probably not too many others.

Pete Ward signed his 1967 Topps cards, including the Sox Sockers, as well as his 1968 and 1971 Topps cards for me.  I'll send the Sox Sockers off to Buford soon.

Ed Crosby, Tom Griffin and Bob Skinner

I received three returns today, for a total of 10 signed cards.

Ed Crosby signed his 1971 and 1976 Topps.

Tom Griffin signed his 1971, 1973, 1976 and 1978 Topps.

And Bob Skinner signed his 1957, 1962, 1969 and 1973 Topps.
