Chris Chambliss Return

I was starting to think this one wasn't coming back.  I sent a request to Chris Chambliss on January 2nd.  When I sent my first request to him almost 10 years ago, it took over two years to come back.  This time, while it was only 6 months, I had seen other requests being returned on SCN, so I thought maybe mine was lost.

He signed his 1973, 1976, 1978 and 1985 Topps.

Four Returns Again Today

I've been sending out quite a few requests, so I've been getting some days with multiple returns.  When I first started this hobby, I sent out over 500 requests in the first six months.  I received multiple requests almost every day.  When I wold pick up the mail while driving my sons home from school, we would all guess how many autographs would be waiting for me that day.

I'm not sending out nearly that many, but enough to have multiple requests waiting for me once in a while.  Today I received four:

Jack Brohamer signed his 1976 - 1980 Topps.

Rick Cerone signed his 1978 Topps.

Chris Knapp signed his 1977-1980 Topps.

And Charlie Spikes signed his 1976, 1978 and 1980 Topps.  What a great name for a baseball player!

Don Kirkwood

I received one return today, and mailed out another four.

Juan Gonzalez and Dyar Miller Returns

I sent this request to Juan Gonzalez back in January and was starting to think it wasn't coming back because I've seen other returns posted on SCN that were sent much later than mine.  So I was happy to see these 2002 and 2004 Topps Heritage cards come back.

Dyar Miller was kind enough to sign three cards for me, including his 1976, 1978 and 1979 Topps.  He also write a brief note answering a question I had for him.

Larry Christenson and Von Joshua Returns

Two returns today.  

Larry Christenson signed his 1976, 1978 and 1979 Topps.

And Von Joshua signed his 1971, 1976 and 1978 Topps.  With this 1971 Topps, I've met my goal of getting 50 more cards signed from this set.  I think I have a total of about 240 cards signed from this set now.

Four Returns Today

I received four returns today, including one that took over six months to come back.

Alan Bannister signed his 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1985 Topps.

Ron Gant signed his 1989 Topps and 2003 Topps Heritage.

Rich Hebner signed his 1971, 1979 and 1985 Topps.  This return puts me within one card of meeting my goal of 50 for the 1971 set this year.  I sent this card last November, just before Thanksgiving.

Finally, Phil Regan signed his 1963 and 1964 Topps.

Max Alvis and Duane Kuiper Returns

I received two returns today.

Max Alvis signed his 1964, 1968 and 1970 Topps.

And Duane Kuiper signed his 1976, 1978 and 1985 Topps.

I sent out five more requests this week and hope to send out a few more over the weekend.

Harold Baines and Pete Mackanin

There were some Harold Baines successes posted on SCN starting in mid-May, so I hopped on the bandwagon and sent out a few cards.  It appeared some people were sending a fee, but not everyone.  I took a chance and sent three cards and no fee.  He signed a 1985 Topps and returned the other two cards unsigned in just seven days.  I'm assuming his mailbox is swamped by now.

After scanning these cards, I realized that I had previously sent to him back in 2004, and already have this card signed!  I should have taken a little more time to realize that so I could have only sent cards I don't already have.

I also received a return from Pete Mackanin, who signed his 1976 and 1978 Topps for me.
