Al Kaline and a Few Purchases

My son got back a great return today.  I gave him a 1958 Topps Al Kaline and $10 for his birthday to send the card off to get signed.  He got it back today.  I think this is one of the nicest vintage cards to get signed, and Kaline always signs nicely.

I bought a lot of 5 signed cards, mainly to get the 1934 Goudey reprint signed by Ben Chapman. 

The lot also included a 1951 Bowman reprint and 1991 Topps archives signed by Hank Bauer.

A 1990 Swell signed by Bobby Doerr.

And a 1988 Pacific signed by George Kell.

A Few Returns This Week

I have been very busy all week and haven't been getting home until late so I haven't had time to post.

I received just a couple returns this week.  Al Kaline signed his 1961 Topps.  I enclosed $10 with my request.

Jim Foor signed his 1972 Topps rookie card, already signed by Paul Jata.

Today my son got back a 1958 Topps signed by Bill Virdon, who also enclosed a signed postcard.

Last Sunday I went to the Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club card show in Bloomington and picked up a few cards to send out.  I was able to send out about a dozen requests on Monday so hopefully I'll start seeing those come back next week.

Help From Nick and TTM Returns From Kaline and Korcheck

Nick, from Baseball Happenings was kind enough to email a while back to see if I needed some autographs from a few guys he was going to be seeing.  I was able to get two cards signed by Jim "Mudcat" Grant and the 1972 Yankees Rookie Stars signed by Rusty Torres (already signed by Closter).  Thanks Nick!

I also got two ttm requests back today.  Not bad for a Tuesday!  Al Kaline signed the 1958 Topps "Tigers' Big Bats" card.  I'm not sure why I waited so long to get this card signed, but I finally have it.

Also, Steve Korchek signed his 1959 Topps for me and wrote me a very nice letter in response to my letter.  How nice!
