Falling Behind

For some reason, I'm having a tough time keeping up with my returns.  It's not like I'm getting a lot of them, but I just don't find the time each day to post them.

I didn't receive any today, but on Monday, I received two ttm returns and one mail-in signing return.

The mail-in signing was Fergie Jenkins, who signed his 1966 Topps rookie card, as well as his 1973 and 1975 Topps.

I received a nice return from former-Twin Mitch Garver, who signed his 2021 Topps Heritage as well as a 2021 Topps Heritage relic card.  I had sent this request to Rangers' spring training back in March.  I am 4 for 4 with Mr. Garver.  Twice, including this return, it has taken almost a year to get it back, and the other two were much quicker.  Not many current players are as generous signers as he is.

The final return on Monday was from Doug Rau, who signed his 1973 and 1975 Topps, as well as the 1973 and 1975 Dodgers team cards.

Yesterday (Tuesday), I received three ttm returns.

Jim Palmer signed his 1973 Topps "KP", which is what this small run of cards is referred to as, or "Kid Photo".  He also signed his 1976 Topps.  I included $20 with my request.

Larry Burright signed his 1962 and 1963 Topps as well as the 1963 Dodgers team card and the 1965 Mets team card.

Finally, Joe Hicks signed his 1961 Topps.  It looks like he accidently marked the card with the pen under his signature.  He didn't sign the two team cards I enclosed, however.

Clyde, Garrett and Morlan

I received three returns today.

David Clyde signed his 1975 Topps, 1978 Topps Indians team card and 1979 Topps.

Wayne Garrett signed the 1972 and 1973 Mets team cards, 1973 Topps and 1975 Topps.

And John Morlan signed his 1975 Topps as well as the 1975 Pirates team card.

Catching Up

I was out of town for a couple days and have some returns to catch up on.

Yesterday I received returns from Bruce Bochte and Ted Wills.

Mr. Bochte  signed his 1975, 1976, 1978 and 1983 Topps.

Ted Wills signed his 1962 Topps, as well as the 1961 Red Sox team card and 1963 Reds team card.

Today I received returns from Roy Face, Dick Lange, Rich Rollins and Jim Rooker.

(El)Roy Face signed his 1956, 1957 and 1963 Topps as well as the 1958 Pirates team card.

Dick Lange signed his 1975 Topps and the 1975 and 1976 Angels team cards.

Rich Rollins signed the 1963 and 1964 Twins team cards as well as his 1966 Topps.  He also signed a program/brochure for his Baseball Camp that he ran in Rochester, MN in the early 70's.  I bought this program on Ebay a long time ago, and it even had the money order carbon copy that this family used to pay the fee for the camp for one lucky kid.  I included $30 which is a little higher than his normal fee, I think, but packing up the program is a bit of a hassle, so I wanted to make it worth his time.

Finally, Jim Rooker signed his 1971 and 1972 Topps for his $10 per card fee.

Six More Team Cards - Including Brooks Robinson

My three TTM returns today yielded me six team card signatures.

Ed Halicki signed his 1975, 1976, 1978 and 1980 Topps.  I already had his 1978 Topps signed, so I'm not sure why I didn't include at least one team card in my request instead of his individual cards.

Al Hrabosky signed his 1975 Topps for my set, as well as the 1971, 1973 and 1976 Cardinals team cards.  The 1971 team card was already signed by Leron Lee, but Mr. Hrabosky's autograph was the first on the other two team cards.

And finally, Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson signed the 1958, 1963 and 1961 Orioles team cards, as well as his 1966 Topps.  I intend to leave the team cards as they are now, with only Mr. Robinson's signature on them.  I already have other copies of these team cards out to other players on which I will try to accumulate as many signatures as I can.

I've sent out 17 requests in the last week, so hopefully I'll be able to update this blog frequently with my returns.
