Luis Aparicio Purchase and Felix Mantilla TTM Return

I received three Luis Aparicio cards that I bought on eBay from a seller that I've used via SCN for some international signings.  These cards help fill some gaps in my set collections.

I also received a ttm return from Felix Mantilla, who signed his 1965 Topps in just 8 days for his $5 per card fee.  I had this card signed by him already, but it was a purchase, and I decided I wanted my own ttm return from him on this card for my set.  I have 449 cards signed from the 65 Topps set, with 149 to go.

Garry Roggenburk TTM Return, a Denny McLain Paid Signing Return and a Bunch of Purchases

Just one ttm return today, but I was surprised to see it because it wasn't in my Informed Delivery email this morning.  Garry Roggenburk signed his 1966 Topps and the 1964, 1966 and 1967 Twins team cards.

Denny McLain finished off my magazine, joining Tony Oliva and Fergie Jenkins on it.  I sent this to a paid signing rather than directly to him, just to make sure it got signed as I wanted.

I bought a couple cards from an SCN contact.  I already had a similar Duffalo card, so I'm not sure why I bought this one, but it wasn't expensive.

Part of my spending spree arrived today. Several Twins-signed cards from the 1960's.

Some Purchases Including Cepeda, Henrich and Alomar

I sent out a lot of requests this past week so the ttm returns should pick up soon.  Today I received a few purchases.

I bought a couple signed rookie cards, including a 1958 Topps Orlando Cepeda and a slabbed 1988 Donruss Roberto Alomar from Tom Orr via SCN.  I paid about the same as an unsigned card for the Cepeda, even though the centering isn't good.

I also bought a 1971 Topps signed by Wanye Simpson and a 2000 Greats of the Game signed by Tommy Henrich and JSA-authenticated.

I went on a bit of a shopping spree on eBay last night, buying up some Twins signed cards from the 60's and a few Aparicio signed cards for my sets.  I continually say I've spent too much this year and it's getting worse.  I might have to separate myself from the hobby for a while or start selling some things to help compensate for my spending.

Jack Morris 1991 World Series Baseball

I just received this ball back from a Tom Orr mail-in signing.

I've got a decent little Morris collection going, and wish I had room in my display cabinets to dedicate a shelf to him.

I also received a 1971 Topps signed Jim Northrup card that I bought on eBay.

Sheldon, Torres, Valle and Smith

I received a few cards back from two players from Puerto Rico via mail-in signings.

Felix Torres signed his 1963 Jell-O, and a few Angels team cards.

And Hector Valle signed his 1965 Topps signed by Lefebvre, a blank 1965 Topps, a 1966 Topps and the 66 Topps Dodgers team card.

I finally got around to buying a 1961 Topps Rollie Sheldon high number card.  It seems a shame to not get a card signed by such a generous signer, but I had to pay about $35 for the card.  Luckily, he did a really nice job of signing it in bold, blue sharpie.

And I bought a 2000 Fleer Greats of the Game signed by Ozzie Smith for much less than his signing fee.  In fact, in an upcoming signing posted on SCN, he isn't even accepting trading cards!  I don't get it.

I've got 65 of this 107-card set signed.  I'm not sure how many are possible, but there are still many left that I can get.  I haven't worked on it too hard lately.  There are 19 players from the set still alive that I don't have, but some are quite expensive, such as George Brett and Mike Schmidt.  I sent in a few cards to a Dave Concepcion signing but forgot to include the one from this set!

TTM, Purchases and a Mail-In Signing

I received a few ttm returns this week.

Jim Merritt signed his 1967 Topps and a few Twins team cards.

Marty Kutyna signed his 1961 Topps.  He's a generous signer but I never got my previous request back from him, which I guess I'll chalk up to getting lost in the mail.

And Steve Braun signed his 1976 and 1977 Topps.

I bought a Lenny Green-signed 1964 Topps on eBay.  I had sent one to him years ago but for some reason he signed the back.  I never got around to sending to him again while he was still with us.

Finally, I received three Jim Kaat-signed bobbleheads back from a mail-in signing.  The signature is a little shaky, but that's my fault for requesting he sign the side of the cap, as opposed to the base or something easier.  I much prefer this location, so I'm happy with these.
