I received two ttm successes today, and also a couple purchases.
Billy Sample was kind enough to sign four cards for me nicely in blue sharpie. The 79 Topps will be off to Pat Putnam to be completed. I like the 79 Topps set, but the Prospects cards are pretty awful. I have no idea why they decided to use black and white pictures. It looks pretty awful. Mr. Sample also included a signed and personalized photocopied picture for me.
I was pretty confused about this Bob Saverine return. I just received another return about a month ago. I had forgotten to log one of my requests to him in February which resulted in a duplicate request going out. Unfortunately, Mr. Saverine always uses a fine black marker that often smears and at its best, it's just not very consistent. I think I'll just live with these since I don't want to spend the money to send him a sharpie with the associated postage costs. I really appreciate that he such a generous signer, but I wonder if he doesn't notice that most of his signatures get smeared.
I also bought a couple signed bobbleheads including Justin Morneau on a New Britain bobblehead and Maury Wills on a Fargo/Moorhead Red Hawks bobblehead. Each of these are J.S.A. authenticated.
