One return today from former-Twin Tom Johnson, who signed his 1976, 1978 and 1979 Topps for my collection.

Lamar Johnson

Yesterday I received one return.  Lamar Johnson signed his 1976, 1978, 1979 and 1980 Topps for my collection.

Jim "Mudcat" Grant

Former-Twin Jim "Mudcat" Grant signed two cards for me, including his 1963 and 1971 Topps.  I had enclosed $10 with my request.

His signature has gotten smaller over the years, and he no longer adds his nickname to his signature.  Here is a 1965 Topps he signed for me at TwinsFest in 2009.

Grant won that game in a 6-hit complete game, 5-1 to send the deciding game back to Los Angeles.

Bill Almon and Gene Pentz

I received two returns again today.

Bill Almon signed his 1978, 1979, 1985, 1985 Draft Pick and 1987 Topps.

And Gene Pentz signed his 1977 and 1978 Topps for me.

After today's returns I am 13 cards short of my goal of adding 50 more 1978 Topps to my set. 

Steve Busby and Balor Moore

I received two returns today.

Steve Busby signed his 1976, 1978 and 1980 Topps.

And Balor Moore signed his 1973, 1978, 1979 and 1980 Topps.

I didn't purposely buy or start collecting the the 1980 set, but a few years ago I bought a Topps Sports Card Locker that was stocked with a nearly complete set of 1980 Topps.  I've started sending out a few with my requests for the 1978 set.  I posted about this purchase here.

Scott McGregor and Mike Sadek Returns

I received two returns today and sent out seven.

Scott McGregor signed his 1978, 1979, 1980, 1985 and 1987 Topps.  I don't normally send more than four cards, but his career spanned the sets I'm working on, so I decided to send five instead of sending out another request later.  I saw from his returns on SCN that he is willing to sign five, and he was kind enough to sign all of these for me.

Mike Sadek signed his 1976, 1978, 1979 and 1980 Topps.

I have been able to keep on on some requests so I expect a steady stream of returns for a while.

Chris Chambliss Return

I was starting to think this one wasn't coming back.  I sent a request to Chris Chambliss on January 2nd.  When I sent my first request to him almost 10 years ago, it took over two years to come back.  This time, while it was only 6 months, I had seen other requests being returned on SCN, so I thought maybe mine was lost.

He signed his 1973, 1976, 1978 and 1985 Topps.

Four Returns Again Today

I've been sending out quite a few requests, so I've been getting some days with multiple returns.  When I first started this hobby, I sent out over 500 requests in the first six months.  I received multiple requests almost every day.  When I wold pick up the mail while driving my sons home from school, we would all guess how many autographs would be waiting for me that day.

I'm not sending out nearly that many, but enough to have multiple requests waiting for me once in a while.  Today I received four:

Jack Brohamer signed his 1976 - 1980 Topps.

Rick Cerone signed his 1978 Topps.

Chris Knapp signed his 1977-1980 Topps.

And Charlie Spikes signed his 1976, 1978 and 1980 Topps.  What a great name for a baseball player!
