Four TTM Returns and Some Purchases

My Informed Delivery showed three ttm returns today so I was happy to see a fourth sitting on the mailbox, with a stamp I hadn't used for a while.

That one turned out to be a request from last November that I sent to Harry Fanok.  He signed his 1963 and 1964 Topps for me.

Derrell Griffith signed the 1965 Dodgers team card as well as his 1966 and 1967 Topps.

Charley Rabe signed his 1958 Topps and the 1958 Reds team card.

And Charlie Maxwell signed four team cards for me.

I bought a handful of 1959 Topps signed cards via eBay from an SCN member that I've bought from several times before.  I really like these multi-signed cards!

Bobby Malkmus TTM and Hrbek and Marichal Mail-In Signings

My ttm returns are tricking in.  I don't have too many out.

Bobby Malkmus signed his 1961 Topps high number card for me in a quick seven days.  There are several 1961 Topps cards I don't have of good signers, but they are in the high number series, which can run $10 - $25 each, so I have to wait for a lower grade card that is cheap enough, but also of a quality that I can stand.  I paid a little under $12 for this card.

A while ago I pre-ordered a Kent Hrbek signed jersey from FanHQ.  I received it a couple weeks ago but am just getting around to logging it in my collection now.  It's not an official jersey, but I love the powder blue, which I don't have in my collection yet.  I also have signed jerseys of Joe Mauer, Torii Hunter, Rod Carew, Francisco Liriano, Justin Morneau, Joe Nathan and Shannon Stewart.

Today I received a bobblehead back from a mail-in Juan Marichal signing.  He did a nice job signing it on the cap.  I think most collectors try to get them signed on the base, but I prefer the helmet/cap if there is room.

Bobby Shantz TTM Returns

Bobby Shantz has to be the greatest ttm autograph signer of all time.  He will sign for free, even though I think most people send at least $5.  He has a beautiful signature and does a great job every time.

Today I received a 1954 Bowman back from him.  I sent one to him last year that got creased pretty badly in the mail, so I decided to replace it with a better one.

Also, a few weeks ago, I received another return from him, but I forgot to log it, both in my spreadsheet and on SCN, which is very unusual for me.  He signed a 1953 Athletics Yearbook beautifully right where I asked him to. 

Another Mill Creek Purchase

I received another Mill Creek purchase today.  I often find things on their site that seem pretty reasonably priced, as well as other things that seem too much.  For example, the Perez Steele postcard of Harmon Killebrew I posted about earlier was only $19.00.  They don't charge shipping or sales tax (technically, you owe your state sales tax, they just don't collect it for you, I think).

Anyway, I found a bunch of set cards to help fill some holes in my collection, as well as a recently-deceased Gary Dotter-signed baseball.  The ball looks better in person than the scan makes it appear.  There is no brown spot, which is an odd thing my scanner keeps showing on baseball, and it doesn't quite appear as off-center as the scan shows.

TTM, Mail-In Signing, and Mill Creek Purchase

I received a bunch of stuff the last few days.  I'm struggling to keep up with documenting it all.

I sent in 10 cards (!) to a Jack Fisher signing and got them all back signed nicely.  The highlight in the bunch for me is the 1967 Kahn's card.  I also added him to a 1963 Orioles team card, as well as having him sign his own.  I have a lot of 61 and 63 Orioles team cards due to some taking a long time to come back ttm, some assumed lost but then showed up, and a couple purchased with several signatures already on them.  The 63 with a bunch on it were mostly on the card when purchased.

The Jack Fisher promoter also included a couple freebies, including a 1979 Alvis Woods and 1993 Fleer Pat Tabler.

Pete Craig signed a 1965 Senators team card and finished off his 1967 rookie card with Dick Bosman.

Finally, I bought a bunch of team cards signed by a single player from Mill Creek Sports.  These are mostly years that I haven't already started on, and nice cards from 1966 and 1967 which are great for autographs due to having a lot of free space with a solid background.
